Hello,
Brought my iphone to best buy for a battery replacement. The result of the test was "unknown battery status' and the technician said he has never seen this status before and is uncertain what would happen if a new battery is installed.
Has anyone wrong into similar situation?

Nope, bought phone brand new from Apple and all parts are original.
I would call AppleCare and ask them the question, it may just be the battery is shorting out. It should be no risk to anyone at Best Buy and they really should check for you. Talk to the manager.
