Missing photos on MAC when upgrading to iPhoto
I've just upgraded to the new High Siera and iPhoto. When opened iPhoto my last 4 years of photos are missing. They are still in the iCloud but can't get them in the Mac.
Thanks

Do you really mean iPhoto or are you now using a totally different program, Photos?
What are your iCloud settings and status on each device/ Usually this is caused by incompatible settings

i really mean iPhoto. the software wouldn't open unless i update it so i did. and when open-end it, last 4 years are not appearing. i can get my cloud stream, 30 last days only. really weird as those photos must be on the Mac somewhere (they were there before the update)
it looks like there are two libraries : the "iPhoto" one and another one called "Photos" which is another software where all my pictures where stored.
I was probably using "Photos" instead of "iPhoto" for years, very misleading ...
Is there a way to merge both. I don't even know the difference between them. confused..
thanks
iphoto has no connection with the Cloud at all.
What version do you have?
Did you back up your Library?
OS version 10.13.4 / iPhoto 9.6.1
no back up - just all in the icloud.
the weird thing is that iMovie still sees all my photos in the iPhoto library.
Look in your Pictures Folder. Is there an iPhoto Library there?
How did the images get to the Cloud?
Nothing misleading. iPhoto has been discontinued for 3 years now and Photos is the replacement application. You appear not to have noticed 😉
Can you see all your shots in Photos?
Is there a way to merge both
No - but if you are using Photos then are all of your photos available in Photos?
