How do I cancel a charge to my apple acct for itunes for $84.I did not authorize

A charge of 84.00 was charged to my apple acct for itunes. I did not authorize this charge. When I try to cancel it I‘m asked for my personal info. I wont do that

Was your credit card actually charged that amount or was this an e-mail you received? If an e-mail, are you sure the message is legitimate? Since it is asking for personal information, it may be a scam.



Apple will always address you by your name or the name they have on file for you and the e-mail will be from @apple.com or @iTunes.com. E-mail addresses can be spoofed. You can go to Mail/View/Message/Show all Headers to see more. Apple e-mails will never contain an attachment.


Avoid phishing emails, fake ‘virus‘ alerts, phony support calls, and other scams



Identifying legitimate emails from the iTunes Store



Send the e-mail to Apple as an attachment to a new e-mail before deleting it. You can forward as an attachment by going to Mail/Message/Forward as attachment.
