show package contents high sierra

Hi everybody,

I am used to right clicking on files like applications, and selecting Show Package Contents in order to navigate in the application package. But now it seems that the display is totaly different and i can't navigate in the folder.

However, but if i go inside by the terminal or "Go to..." I can navigates in the folder...

So I wonder if it is normal ? and if there is a solution to Show Package Contents easily instead of using terminal or "go to..." which are clearly more longer but it requires to write the complete path, it's boring.

Database is usually a file, not a folder. The file can't be viewed except by the app that created it. If you want to post an image:

To Post A Screen Shot

  1. Press Command-Shift-4 which will change the cursor to crosshairs.
  2. Hold down the mouse button and use the crosshairs to select the part of the screen you wish to capture.
  3. Release the mouse button and the image will be saved to your Desktop.
  4. Drag the pic into your open forum editor. If that fails then go to the following steps.
  5. Click on the Camera icon in the toolbar of the forum message editor.
  6. Drag the image onto the Choose File button and click on the Insert button.

Hi Kappy, actualy the contextual menu is working well, I can go inside the package but when I try to double click on a folder, i can not go inside the selected folder...

For example, suppose that "database" is a folder (see picture).

If i try to double click from this step, i can not go inside "database".

But if i write the path in "Go to..." :

/Users/simonpham/Pictures/Bibliothèque Photos.photolibrary/database

-> it opens the folder database as planned.

So i wonder why i can do the operation by the difficult way but not by the easy way.

Hi Barney-15E, I founded something else, for the case that I shown in the picture, if I change the display with cmd+" the content of the package becomes normal. I tought that the problem was solved...But this tips does not work for package with only one folder inside the package.

Thank for the time that you take to help me.

Yes. Its normal

Package content is typically seen like you expect is from the Applications folder, not data package like iPhoto Library.photolibrary
