Problem with iPhone X. Can’t type what I want to search directly on the space on the top of Safari

Never happened before with my previous iPhones. Usually I could just open Safari and type what I want to search on the space on the top (where you can put URLs). But with iPhone X, more often than not, this will lead to fhe page not responding. Silly solution for me is to open up a search engine page (Yahoo, Bing or Google) and type whar I want to search in the box instead. Long way round. Wondered if anyone else had the same problem?

I've never seen or read of this type of action. I doubt it is a bug, since no one has spoken of it, and no one I know has experienced it either. Generally, small things like this that occur are individual phone issues. You can try starting out by going to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website data. That should help, but you can also power the phone off and back on again. If it should continue, you can make a current backup of the phone and restore that backup. I doubt that it would go any further than that. Strange website behavior can usually be attributed to cache or cookie files.

Thanks, Chris.

It says search or enter web site name.

Checked the settings. Most is on.

This morning it seems to work fine. Only been funny the past couple weeks. I thought it was Google but then when I opened Google page and searched there, it worked.

I think it may be some bugs which I hope the next update will help. It was just so frustrating that I posted on this web board for the first time last night. IN case someone else is experiencing the same. Thanks anyway.
