Follow the steps here: If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support
You may need to use recovery mode, if iTunes requests you unlock the device.
Once the device has been restored you can sync with iTunes, or restore a backup from iTunes or iCloud to get the data back onto the iPad.
