Purchasing music without Apple music

hello, I have been trying to purchase music in iTunes, but when I click on a song it brings up a subscription page for Apple Music subscription which I do not want. click no thank you and it goes back to list and not able to purchase any music. Any ideas on how to not subscribe and still have access to iTunes music, I don’t really want to do free trial then have to unsubscribe, it’s pretty obvious that there is no choice in this.....thanks for help Haidee
