Will my messages be sent to my email as well?

If my email and phone number are where I can be reached at on my message settings, will my messages also be emailed to me? And if I start a new conversation with my email(Apple ID) does that mean I’m emailing them? And will I be able to find my sent messages in my ‘sent mail’ at my email account?

Messages and Mail are 2 separate programs. Messages you send and received only in the Messages app/application. They do not go to your e-mail account. If you start a new conversation in an e-mail, you are e-mailing them, and that won't show in Messages. You should be able to find your sent e-mails in the Sent mailbox.
