iPhone H264 ... can't 'Transcode Media' to make Proxy?

Pulled some iPhone media into FCPX. Notice I can't 'Transcode' to make Proxy file. Wonder what this is about?

I didn't try to 'import', just dragged the clips into FCPX. Maybe I'm missing something?

All ears,

Nada. I imported the media from the SD card in through Photos (don't ask why). Then I went and pulled ... mmmm ... I pulled the clips from the Photos folder ... which is imbedded in Photos.

Never again. That was dumb. I think I've just figured it out Tom. I'm going to pull all those clips out of the Photo 'library' into a normal (not embedded) folder, and ... nope, that's not it.

The clips were imported (dragged/copied) from that embedded folder (in Photos) INTO FCPX, where I've assigned everything to a Media folder in which is found the auto-created folder Final Cut Original Media ... so there is no connect with the original Photos material. Everything's been copied. Perhaps it has something to do with the H265 iPhone records in?

Thank you Tom. I'll try another run at it. Mysterious.

i wonder. I'm using FILMICPro with the iPhone ... camera software that allows me more control than the iPhone camera does. I'm now wondering if it produces some kind of codec that is problematic for FCPX. Though it is actually running in 'original' mode, on a timeline. I'll do a test with a regular iPhone camera movie and see if there is something different happening. Will report back. Thank you kindly for your help Tom.
