Can I retrieve a deleted text message

If you have an iTunes or iCloud backup of your device that you made prior to the time you deleted the message, you can erase your device and then restore it to that backup. Be aware, however, that the device will be restored to the state it was in at the time the backup was made. Any changes since that point in time would be overlaid by the backup data:
