Verification apple id every week

My wife is receiving every week a message on her iphone and ipad to verify her apple id and to enter a new password. How come?

Getting apple id verification codes without requesting them I keep getting these "your apple id code is:XXXXXX. don't share it with anyone" messages randomly and I've gotten like 14 of them that weren't me. Review Apple ID and phone number I have received the pop up to verify my AppleID and phone number. However the number listed isn’t my number but my wife’s. Why is that and what do I do so that I don’t mess up either my or my wife’s phones/accounts?
