Update to iOS 11.3 caused issues with bluetooth and my BMW 528i

Ever since updating to iOS 11.3 I no longer can see my recent calls from my BMW dash to make quick calls. Now my music will update to the artist playing on my screen which it didn't do before but will constantly disconnect while having to be manually reconnected every 2 minutes. Any one else having this issue? Any potential fixes in the works?

Hello GeorgeInMaine,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it seems you are experiencing issues with using your iPhone with your car stereo in your BMW. To help with this issue, please follow each of these steps, including contacting BMW for possible updates to your car stereo:

If you're using Bluetooth

  1. Check your car stereo's user manual for how to pair with a Bluetooth device.
  2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth, and turn off Bluetooth. Wait for 5 seconds, then turn Bluetooth back on.
  3. Restart your iOS device.
  4. On your iOS device, unpair your car stereo. On your car's display, unpair your iOS device and any other devices. Restart your car and your iOS device, then pair and connect again.
  5. Update your iOS device.
  6. Install any firmware updates for your car stereo.
  7. If you still can't connect, contact Apple Support.
