My iPad for backing up says I need to connect to wifi and I am connected to wifi

My iPad says it hasn't been backed up for several weeks...then when I try to backup it says I need to connect to wifi. In settings iCloud back up won't go on, or it will go on and the go off again.

A while back also got a message saying my disk space was low and I purchased addiitonal iCloud space....maybe I am not understanding about iCloud? HELP!!! Please! Thanking you in advance....

iPad iCloud So my iPad was was connected to WiFi,on charge and locked but when I try to back it up,it says it will only back up when it is connected to WiFi,on charge and locked.Did that,no back up still.When it loads,it says “Last back up:”when it is done loading it goes back to the same WiFi,charge thing.I have storage.But when I check in my ID it says 1 back but 0 KB.
