With High Sierra you need to update to iPhoto 9.6.1.

The problem is, that Apple stopped selling iPhoto from the AppStore three years ago, when Photo for Mac came out, and the update to iPhoto 9..6.1 is no longer possible in any country.

However, if your iPhoto version is an AppStore version of iPhoto and is showing in your Purchases history at the AppStore (in the fourth tab "Purchased"), you can update Piphotoby reinstalling it. If you are seeing iPhoto in your purchases history, try the following:

  • Move iPhoto from the Applications folder to the Trash. Do not empty the Trash.
  • Open the AppStore, click the Purchases tab, reload it with ⌘R.
  • Now you should be seeing "Install" to the right of iPhoto. Click Install.

Mac OS X 10.10.3 and newer include Photos, which is intended as a replacement for iPhoto and can import its library. If you'd like to go on using iPhoto in addition to or instead of switching to Photos, clickhereand try following the instructions; you'll only be able to do so if you previously got iPhoto from or associated it with the Mac App Store.
