Forced to load back up after restoring

My friend has an iPhone 8+ and we are trying to get into Restrictions but he forgot his restrictions passcode. We bit the bullet and restored the iPhone. But as soon as we sign his Apple ID in after the phone is wiped, it turns back into his old phone, and we arrive where we started. What am I doing wrong?

Restrictions passcode problem I am trying to reset my daughters old phone to factory settings but it keeps asking for a ‘restrictions passcode’. Neither me or my daughter remember setting this up so have no idea what it could be (many failed attempts). whats the best way to be able to reset her old phone. How to reset my phone with restrictions on? long story short, my parents put on a restriction passcode and forgot it. Now I'm all grown up, but the passcode was keeping me from accessing certain things, and the only way to get rid of it was to buy a brand new phone and not restore a backup (set it up as a new phone). That's what I did, but now I've run into a new problem. I'm trying to reset my old phone (erase all content) so that I can get rid of it, but it says that I need the restriction passcode to do it. Is there any way to bypass this restriction so that I can wipe my phone? If not, how am I supposed to sell/trade in my old phone?
