Everything is running fine. I ran an etrecheck before I went to High Sierra, and all was well. Now there are some apps that are not ready to play nice with HS, but all operates quickly and good (except etrecheck). What is spindump, and sandboxd? That seems to confine files and apps? And mdworker comes up as a crash (5) on the report. Why? Anyway, I will look for a hardware diagnostic tool for mac and see if I can get a report I understand. I will wait to hear from you. I just ran the apple hardware diagnostic program and the result was "no hardware problem found" so, as was my original question re airmail3 or postbox, as per kappy's response, I am going to use postbox for a bit. I do not know why etrecheck keeps giving me the hardware failure business. Maybe you can help me understand that when you see all of the junk I have posted after you said to try etrecheck. I still am curious about sandboxd and spindump, and why they are there, and what the exactly do, and can I live without them?

my mail.app seems to be showing mail I have not read as being read. And infrequently it will put mail in the trash I have not seen. So I think I'll try something a little different.
