Update late 2011 iMac to MacOS High Sierra stuck

I have a late 2011 iMac which was working perfectly on OS 10.9 last night I decided to update it to High Sierra.

It is now stuck at the “ cannot install macOS on this computer” “Mac OS cannot load the files...”

Cannot log in safe mode

Disk utility cannot repair / mount the disk (Machintosh HD)

Cannot go into Targeted disk mode to recover some important files on the drive.

Cannot create a new image from the Machintosh HD

Cannot run Kextstat in terminal (command not found)

Still can’t figure this out. can someone help pls?

Thank you.

IT WORKED!!!!

(Must be mentioned that the disk could be seen (grayed out) from disk utility.

1- I installed os high Sierra on an external HD

2- started the iMac that couldn’t work from it

3- launched terminal typed:

diskutil list

This listed the drives. I could see my internal (original) Macintosh HD

And my external HD with the OS Sierra installed

4-still on terminal I typed (replace src and dst with device to be mount and the mount point respectively)

sudo mount/dev/src/mnt/dst -o force
