apple superdrive burner wzg900

When I connect my apple superdrive burner to my Mac book pro, via USB, a message appears on screen saying power is required. The CD is not drawn in even though I attempt push the disk completely in. The eject command does work.

Can you advise please.

If the MacBook Pro has USB-C/Thunderbolt-3. you can use a USB-C to USB-A adapter.

Apple USB SuperDrive not working I'm using macOS Monterey 12.3.1 and I have recently found that my Apple USB SuperDrive CD burner is not showing up in my finder, nor does it work when I try to put a disk in the drive. I've restarted, run disk utility first aid as well as many other suggestions online. Anyone else having the same problem? It's worked fine up until Monterey, and I want to know if there's a quick fix to get it to show up and work, or if it's dead? It has always worked in the past (although I bought it in 2016 from an Apple Store) IS it possible that one of the OS upgrades (like Monterey) is preventing it from operating? My USB SuperDrive is not working. I already plugged my USB SuperDrive with my Mac book pro 2019, but it cannot work. It cannot even inject the disc. How can I fix this?

Final Cut x and disc burn hanging at 66% so unable to burn a disc. Hi, I have updated to Monterey version 12.0.1 on an iMac M1. Have the latest version of Final cut x and have been trying to burn a disc for the last few days to an external burner. All works on the burner and it reads all my discs. I have tried my making an export file first that failed. Tried within final cut that failed as well. Disconnected all other external hard drives with just the burner connected still stops at 66%. The burner is powered externally and not by the iMac. It's not worth buying a burning program as it is only a hobby and will only need to burn a disc now and again. This new M1 had caused me more trouble then any other iMac and it's the third one I have had as the two others had to be sent backend replaced. Hope someone can help. Regards Frustrated OAP Harry
