Two OS on One disk

I have two OS resident on one internal disk that has been partitioned. Each OS has been configured as a boot drive so I can choose either one when I restart my iMac. SOOOO here's the question, when I'm operating under 10.12 and restart, I see the 10.6 as a viable boot drive and can choose it. However, when I'm operating under 10.6 and restart I don't see the 10.12 boot drive? It's a bit more difficult to get the 10.12....

Is there a way to have the 10.12 recognized whilst running 10.6?

Thanks,

Ron

Not in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences; due to the transition to Core Storage, Snow Leopard won’t see Yosemite or newer OSes there.

Restart with the Option key held down to switch.
