Have you done any software upgrades or system restores on either device recently? your settings might been changed inadvertently.

On your iPhone, check Settings > Messages to make sure that iMessage is enabled and that your iPad is listed among the devices in Text Message Forwarding and enabled there.

On your iPad, check Messages to make sure that iMessage is enabled.
