iCloud cannot connect due to a problem with email

I was asked to fix a friend's Mac Air.

One problem was the error described here:

"iCloud cannot connect due to a problem with xxx@gmail.com"

I am hoping this does not mean someone configured her Gmail through iCloud? Why would they do that? I didn't even know you could. Otherwise why would it give me that error?

Can't log on to Apple ID with icloud-mail on Macbook Air Hi, I recently changed my main Apple ID email from my gmail one to the icloud one. Everything works fine on my iphone and I can log on to icloud.com etc., but my Mac refuses to let me log in with the icloud-email. It tells me "An unkown error occurred", as in the screenshot. Has anyone else experienced this? My Mac is a 13 inch Macbook Air (Mid 2012) and running on Catalina 10.15.6. Thank you for any help.

mac mail server Hi - I've been receiving error messages that say "Blank" email can't be moved to iCloud (my mac mail account) due to server, p18-imap.mail.me.com. Thoughts? Re VIP's: Is it possible to have two separate email addresses for the same person? Thanks.
