My iPhone X is water damaged.. what can I do?

I used my iPhone X for pictures in a pool below 3 ft. I've used my iPhone 7 Plus in the past, even SUBMERGED and it was fine.. but iPhone X which is a lot more expensive is also a lot more sensitive. Lesson learned...

What are your suggestions? Do I just need to buy another phone? Or can I be covered under any form of replacement or warranty?

I am also in vacation right now, I bought my iPhone in Canada and I am currently in the USA. Does the place/country I purchased the phone from matter, when it comes to replacement/warranty?

Thank you.

iPhone X, iOS 11.3

You warranty does not cover water damage. The claim is that iPhone is water resistant, not waterproof.

You need to have bought Apple care + to cover up to two incidents of water damage.

But as an extention to the Warranty, it must still be activated in the country from where it was first purchased.
