How do you lower volume for a segment of a music track?

I am making a home movie with a song underneath. I have muted the volume on most of the clips, but a few I want to hear the people talking so then how do I lower the music track below just for that clip (the song is 4 minutes long in one audio clip.

Here's a link to a help menu that will explain how to change volume of an audio clip. If for some reason the link doesn't come through in this post, click on Help and type in "change volume".


The way to do what you want is to select the video clip that is above the audio clip, then click on the little loudspeaker icon in the tool bar in the upper right of your screen. Check the box below the icon that says "Lower volume of other clips." That will lower the volume of the audio clip below the selected video clip, but the audio will return to normal level once the playhead moves past the selected clip.
