Question: I rented a movie on iTunes and now it won’t play

Like I said I paid for, downloaded, and clicked the movie I rented. The screen pops up to start playing but doesn’t work. It’s just black and it won’t skip forward or anything. I have the latest version of iTunes and on my MacBook so I’m not sure what’s wrong. I’m also connected to wifi so it should work.
