How do I find my password for the email server on IMAP

I long ago forgot my email password for my "me.com" account on apple mail which is resident on my MacBook Pro. Where can I find my email account password? Thanks!

The Mail Server password, and your Apple ID password are one and the same. Your me.com address is either an Apple ID on its own, or is part of an Apple ID and uses its password.

If your current Apple ID password does not work for your me.com email, then its an Apple ID on its own. In which case you would need to recover the password for the me.com account in the link above.

i.e the Mail server uses the account password to send and receive email.
