macOS installation failed

My mac OS was trying to install an update of Sierra then displayed a message saying “mac os could not be installed on your computer” “the path appears to be missing or damaged”. I can’t get is reinstalled or started. Tried startup with command-R but nothing.

If you were unable to boot from a Recovery HD then your disk may be dead or needs to be reformatted. However, I'm unable to suggest anything because you haven't provided any information. To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities' folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right. You may also find the complete model information by selecting About This Mac from the Apple menu. Please read Writing an effective Apple Support Communities question.
