To import the contacts an article iCloud: Import a contact into iCloud Contacts

Yes the network speed is the the essential part of syncing the contacts , if the user has exceeded free 5gb data and not purchased the data an error will always occur , the user has to reduce the iCloud data an article for it Manage your iCloud storage - Apple Support

And in system preferences - click on iCloud and sign out from the account and archive folder will be created in home folder .

Hello tygb,

I see that you're missing some of your contacts. I can understand your concern. I rely on my contact information heavily, so I'd be happy to help.

Your contacts are synced through the accounts that you have set up on your Mac. You can restore your contacts from iCloud. This link will guide you in restoring your contacts:

iCloud: Restore your contacts, calendars and reminders, or bookmarks
If after attempting to restore from iCloud the contacts are still missing, reply back with the answers to the following questions.
1. Did you notice the contacts missing after updating the software on your Mac?
2. Have you removed any accounts from your Mac recently?
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Have a great day!

Thanks ! for replying me a query is there if I open system preferences and click on iCloud and sign out from iCloud and uncheck the boxes of iCloud Drive and contacts and don't keep a copy of the data and iCloud data is crossing the free 5GB limit will the extra contacts saved on the server will download once again or they will be reflected , is syncing issue related to network speed .

Why do contact don't sync immediately or is this a icloud server issue for a special individual case .

The questions that you asked I am using Mac OS high Sierra 10.13.4 with latest update and yes I have removed the account from system preferences > iCloud account and has not kept a copy of it .

And what precautions I must take to save the contacts at a safe place , is there any method .

Please do reply .

Hello tygb,

Thanks for getting back to us. It sounds like the contacts that are missing are connected to the account that you removed, and you were not able to recover them from iCloud.com.

If so, you'll want to reach out to Apple Support. You can reach them with this link: Contact Apple Support
