Will the 10.13.4 Combo Update Force APFS Conversion?

Hello All,

I have a multi-booting MBPro with paid software that seamlessly integrates the partitions, allowing me to read and write to each partition from within each OS, into which I've natively booted. Apple's APFS boinks all that up, due to the inability of the paid software to write, let alone write to, APFS. This caused me to have to completely reinstall my macOS from scratch via a rescue disc, ensuring APFS conversion was avoided through the use of the "--converttoapfs NO" option within /startosinstall. Now I'm afraid to update macOS, fearing the APFS conversion will be forced. So, my question is: Will the 10.13.4 Combo Update force APFS conversion? Furthermore, is there a way to dig into the updates and determine this, so I don't have to search for or write a post with each update released?

Thanks for your help in advance.

No the combo update alone will not force a conversion to APFS.

Likewise, for future references you can force the full installer.app to skip the APFS conversion by quitting the installer and launching it from terminal with the command line, copy and paste:

/Applications/Install\ macOS\ High\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/startosinstall --converttoapfs NO
