moving photos library and related things

Hello

I have a new MBP. Currently my photos library is on an external usb connected drive, its about 200GB. I have had this problem in the past with my older MBP. I am never able to EJECT the external drive, I assume because Memories is scanning all my photos trying to make new memories. In the past I always had to shutdown my MBP then remove the device.

Q1) is there a way to eject the photos library external drive.

Well now that I have a new MBP with 1TB ssd, I was thinking of copying the library to its internal drive, this would therefore remove the need to eject the photos library disk.

When I try to copy the library from the external drive to the internal drive, it copies for a couple of GB and then fails for an error stating something about another file on the volume with the same name. I assume it has to do with the internal structure of the photos library.

Q2) is there a way around the same file name on volume error?
