My external hard drive keeps losing write access

Hello, as the little says, and it happens quite often (or rapidly), it can be a couple of times per day. The drive won't let me write anything on it and neither will it unmount, I'm forced to unplug/replug it to regain write access.

The device is a Toshiba Store.E Basics 1,5TB 2,5" USB3, GUID Mac OS Extended journalised and it's connect to my iMac via a 4 slots powered USB3 hub.

Where is the issue coming from and how to solve it ?

MacOS external drive issue Hi, I've been using my 2017 MacBook Pro for some time now but there is an issue I am facing with my external hard drive. I have a seagate external 2TB backup disk plugged into my laptop now lets say I pull it out without pressing the eject button. I get this notification saying that the device was not ejected properly and that's okay I did it on purpose. Now whenever I connect the HDD back, it shows up in the disk utility but not in finder and I am unable to mount it so I just wait... it takes around 20mins and somehow the HDD randomly pops into the finder. What is wrong here? I've tried similar thing with a Samsung SSD 1TB and everything was same just the loading time was around 10mins that's all. I am not really sure what's going on but I think Mac tries to rebuild some partition table or something if the device was not ejected properly. The issue is not with the drives or MacBook Pro as both seems to work without any problems in bootcamp as well as other windows pc. which leads me to believe that it's more of an OS problem. Why can't I just press the eject button? because a lot of time I move the angle of the laptop or maybe pull the laptop here and there which makes the disk randomly disconnect and then it takes forever to load. Anyone's facing any similar issues? I've tried APFS, ExFat and both of them have the same issue.

External Hard Drive Issues on MacOS Sierra Hello All,Just some background, I got a WD 2TB External Drive about 4-5 years ago for my Mac to store movies and such, and I've never had issues with it before, but now when I plug it in I find that finder is extremely unresponsive and has a ton of trouble opening the device.My mac knows that the HDD is there the second I plug it in, but when I click on it, finder stalls and opening even a single folder on the drive can take up to 5-10 minutes.I attempted to do first aid on disk repair, but I got an error because Disk Repair was unable to unmount the device.Additionally, if I yank out the hard drive, finder and any slowed applications go back to being responsive instantly. Also, for some reason my mac still thinks the drive is there, because it still appears in finder and I have to click "force eject" in order to remove the icon.OS: macOS High Sierra version 10.13.4. "Disk not ejected properly" My Mac mini occasionally ejects the external USB HHD, I do my time machine back ups on it and I get a message saying the drive was not ejected properly. Its a NEW 5Tb drive by Seagate, I have tried plugging the USB into different ports at the back of the base unit, but it still happens. It comes with a program called NTFS for Mac, would this cause a disconnecting issue?
