Question: iPhoto slideshow export huge file size

I want to export an iPhoto slideshow to a .m4v file. The photos are around 350MB combined. When I try to export as 1080p, I get an error stating that I need more storage space because the resulting file size will be around 64GB. When I export as 720p, the file size will be around 29GB. Even at 720p the movie is 80 times larger than the photos? That can't be accurate.

I found this thread, where the poster had a similar issue and resolved it by rebooting his Mac. No such luck for me.

Why is my iphoto slideshow export suddenly so large

Any idea what's going on and how I can fix it?

MacOS 10.13.4

iPhoto 9.6.1(910.42)

Thanks.

As a Test:

Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'

Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

Post back with the result.

How many photos are in the slideshow? What theme and transition are you using? Any music?

Just ran a test with 106 photos: the slideshow with Classic theme, dissolve transition and just theme music came in at 130 MB for the movie file. The 106 original files were 308 MB.
