How can I see date modified

Hello I have some old photos I'm trying to manually import into Photos on my Mac. When I see a picture in Finder before importing I see it has a date created, date modified, and date last opened. Some of my pictures have a date created of 12/31/1969 but I can see a date modified of 9/23/2003. Why are these two dates different - maybe my digital camera date was wrong when picture was taken? But more importantly, how do I fix this because when I import into Photos it shows the date created as 12/31/1969 which puts it at the bottom of my sort.

Question: How do i see 'Date Modified' in Photos?

Question: Is there a way to easily change the 'date created' to the 'date modified'?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.7)
