The literal answer to your question is to inspect the topmost interface shown in

system preferences > Network

As you can see the IP Address of my Mac at this moment is 192.168.0.152. You cannot send me a message at that address, because that is a strictly-local address, which is NOT internet Routable. Nor will the Address of My Router help, as that is also a strictly-local address.


Hundreds of thousands of Users around the globe are using that same IP address on their networks, without any conflict whatsoever.

And for your Mac book ip address open system preferences > network , click on advanced > tcp /ip > in front of ipv4 address it will be shown as 192.168.x.y
