Alphabetical order in OS Mail

How do you fix mac OS Mail when mailboxes aren’t in alphabetical order? This problem only happens on desktop (iMac for me) and laptop (Mac Book Pro for me) computers with the Mail app. All mobile devices (iPhone and iPad for me) do not have this problem. Below is the only link I found online to solve the problem. Is this really the only solution? I have found numerous posts of others having the same issue. Manually moving/sorting the mail boxes is NOT an option for me or most others who have posted. The suggested solution below sounds more like a PC type solution. Think many people, myself included, chose Apple for its simplicity of use. What happened Apple? We miss you Mr. Steve Jobs!
