How can I remove my payment method from my account I’ve canceled everything and it still won’t let me update my games it takes me back to the update payment method screen

I’m lost on the iPhone thing but it’s on iPhone 6

my iphone won’t update apps i’ve cancelled all subscriptions on my phone and through the app store and through my settings but it won’t let me remove my payment method and i can’t update any of my apps. basically i’m not sure what to do so can someone talk me through how to go about this?
