transfer photos from i phone 5 to macbook air ...

Trying to transfer photos from i phone 5 to macbook air....keep getting msg.."Photos in the Camera Roll of "paul crayton’s iPhone" cannot be imported because the device is locked with a passcode." ...but I cannot see any passcode on phone.
