I have a 2010-2011 27” iMac that shuts off for no reason after a few minutes

In System Prefs / Security & Privacy / General / Advanced, do you have a log out time set?

You can also try running Safe mode.Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac - Apple Support

Also try an SMC reset. How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support
