Loading?

My phone periodically seems like it is trying to load something like if I were on line. I want to know why or what it’s doing so I can tumen it off. I don’t have on iDrive and I don’t have on iCloud for automatic updates. I need to know what it is though because I really don’t want to go over on my data iPhone 8 Plus newest software update
