iPhoto slideshow adding music

I am adding music to a slideshow using iphoto. However, I am unable to add some songs that appear in my music library. Is there a way to correct this issue and allow adding the songs? Thanks.

Have the songs been downloaded from Apple Music? Then you cannot use them in a slideshow, only if you purchase them.

Why won't my slideshow allow me to use my own music instead of the pre-set music? it shows me the choices, but won't allow me to select any. Why can't I choose my own music for a slideshow I create in Photos? Under the Music tab, it shows the list of my music, but won't allow me to select anything.
