Apple Watch pairs with Bluetooth earphones but won't play music

I have successfully paired my Apple Watch 3 with a pair of Bluetooth 4.2 wireless earphones (Auyeh). It shows as connected in Settings and I can even invoke Siri via the earphones, but when I click on the music and a playlist it goes "Choose where to play music" > wireless headphones > Connection Failed Make sure wireless earphones is turned on and in range.

I can play music to the earphones via my iPhone, but not the Watch.

I can’t listen to Bluetooth headphones on Apple watch I just brought a new Apple Watch 3. While trying to connect my Bluetooth headphones to it, it does connect. Watch not playing music Hi, it might be the way I’ve set up my new watch, but for some reason I can’t play music through it. It asks to join Bluetooth headphones, or it will play through the phone, but not the watch. Any ideas why? Many thanks, Nicky
