battery not charging and screen stuck
Screen still black after iPad (3rd generation) has been plugged into wall outlet for more than 24 hours. White apple logo comes on screen periodically, but then vanishes. If I pull out the plug and then plug it in again, the low-battery symbol comes on for a few seconds, the changes to the white apple logo for a while before turning black again. I tried holding both buttons in at the same time, but nothing happens. I have not yet tried plugging it into my IMac.

Cycles to black then Apple logo . If I hold down the bottom long enough it will show the plug logo but will not go further. The battery shows empty but the indicator top right shows battery charged.
I don’t know why it now says “Solved” above my previous comment. The problem is NOT solved. Plugging the USB into my iMac and going into iTunes on the iMac made no difference — still just a black screen on my iPad. I pressed both buttons simultaneously. Nothing happened. Still black.
What shows on the iPad's screen ? Have you tried a soft-reset/reboot ?
Yes
