Scrub 10.5.8 hard drive

Want to pass on my iBook G4 laptop version 10.5.8 to my son,

how would I scrub all my information from the hard drive?

You may be able to purchase one online but be careful. It must be an original gray disk from your exact model G4 PowerBook as these discs are hardware specific. Or you might try an Apple Authorized Serve Provider.

Use the discs it shipped with. Boot from Install Disk 1 holding the "c" key. Then use Disk Utility to wipe the hard drive and reinstall the OS.
