outlook problem after using google chrome

Hello, I got a bit of a problem. I have used outlook for about 10 years on my mac with no issues, until yesterday. I was using a program that didn't work on safari, so I had to go through Google Chrome to use it and in doing so, I opened my mailbox in outlook, using google chrome. Since than, I can't use outlook in Safari anymore.

Outlook still works on google chrome, but when I use Safari I get the following message:

I already tried logging out on my microsoft account and as soon as I log back in with my correct password, I get the same error again.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

Go to Safari Preferences/Extensions and turn all extensions off. Test. If okay, turn the extensions on one by one until you figure out what extension is causing the problem.

I would uninstall Avast. It tends to interfere with the computer's operation while providing minimal to no benefit unless you work with Windows files. Most long time posters recommend not using antivirus software or cleaning software such as CleanMyMac.

Have you tried restarting the computer?

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. Also try the Safe Mode.

Isolating an issue by using another user account

Safe Mode - About

Safe Mode Startup – El Capitan. also Sierra

If it works in the Safe Mode, try running this program when booted normally and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply.
