I unboxed my iphone x but it did not turn on. Charged it for 40 minutes and no logo for apple nor power came on. Connected the phone to itunes and it still wont turn on.

The phone is still under warranty. take it in for evaluation. Chances are you got a dud out of the box (can happen). Apple will replace the unit if it is faulty.
If you bought it from Apple you have 14 days to return it for a full refund.
It may be able to be fixed. You also have free telephone support for 90 days. In the US 1-800-MYAPPLE. Outside US not sure. I suggest you contact Apple to open a ticket.
I bought it at the Apple store April 11th. April 25th is my dead line. The issue is that I don’t get back into the country until May 1st. That means I just bought a new expensive phone without getting the results. This is horrible.
