Sharing Contacts in Family sharing

However, you can easily put existing Contacts on a new Apple ID. On an iOS device where you have the original Apple ID signed in, you can sign that ID out of iCloud. When it asks if you want to keep your Contacts on the device, say Yes. Then sign in the other Apple ID. When it asks if you want to merge the Contacts on the device to the iCloud account being signed in, say Merge.

Going forward, it is quite simple to select new cards and email them to other Apple IDs. You would select the new Contact, click on the Share button, and email it to whomever you wish. When they receive it on an Apple device or computer, they can double-click the card, and it asks if they want to add it to their Contacts.

Add the 2nd Apple ID to Internet Accounts.

Now you have Apple ID A and Apple ID B's contacts visible in the Mac Contacts app.

Simply copy the desired contacts from Apple ID B to Apple ID A and iCloud will sync them to Apple ID A's account.

Apple ID A is considered the Main Account. The others can sync a smaller set of iCloud data, including Nail and Contacts. Once in Apple ID A's Address Book, all contacts "shared" this way will update whenever Apple ID B updates.

The initial sharing is manual though. You must access Apple ID B's Mac based account (via the Mac contacts app) to copy contacts to Apple ID A. If Apple ID B ever changes their password, you lose access.

Sorry, but not sure what you are referring to? The OP was asking about whether or not contacts could be shared as a part of Family Sharing. The answer is that it is not a supported feature of Family Sharing.

So, not sure what you mean when you indicate that you don't want to share. Since you cannot currently do that, what is the issue?

Not sure about Mark and Jenn but I do and have the same dilemma. I don't want to share. My wife will never do it.
