iPhone 8 Plus Haptics Engine Issues

I recently purchased an iPhone 8 Plus 64 GB version in Jet Black.

I've used the phone for about two weeks without issue. I've kept the phone in a very protective case. The phone has always had a tempered glass screen protector since purchased. Finally, the phone has never been exposed to water and has never been stored in an environment that is more than ten degrees higher or less than 70 degrees Fahrenheit for periods longer than eight hours approximately. The environment the device was stored has never been full of moisture. I have never dropped the phone either.

Whenever I press on the Home Button even slightly, it reacts, physically, and on the operating system as if I've pressed it about twenty times a second. My phone is close to unusable because of this issue. In the mean time, I've been using the assistive touch Home Button on the phone, but it's an issue that needs to be resolved as I use my phone for business matters.

I've done a lot of research and found nobody with a similar issue. I was wondering if someone else is having this issue and if there is a resolution besides getting the phone replaced and repaired. (I've scheduled an appointment with an Apple-Certified Repair Center Sprint Store approximately one day from the date of this post.

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 11.3.1, Vanilla, no third party servicing
