Question

iOS 11.3.1 update battery drain / turns off /app issues

Hi everyone

updated 11.3.1 on iPhone 6 yesterday and since then massive battery drain. Can go from 100% to 9% in 10 minutes. Crashes when using apps and switches off unable to restart even when holding in the start-home key as image of red flat battery appears. I then have to plug it in to charge which takes about half an hour to charge back to 100%.

Very frustrating to say the least. Never had these problens before the update.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks Jameson for all your help When I checked Battery Health > peak performance > advises that my battery is degraded

I had no problems at all prior to the upgrade and will go to an Apple store tomorrow to change the battery

Go to settings down to battery click battery health.

You may need a new battery Make an appointment at Apple store For checking.

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it seems you are experiencing battery life issues with your iPhone 6 since updating the iOS software. First, go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health (Beta) and see if this indicates your battery is normal or there is any indications of an issue with your battery on your iPhone.

If your battery is shown as normal, use iTunes on your Mac or PC to backup and restore your iOS software to factory settings, as this process erases the information and settings on your device and installs a fresh copy of the latest iOS software. Temporarily setup your phone as new to test your issues, and then restore your backup and test the issues again.

Yes I think I do need a new battery as under Peak performance capacity it says my battery is degraded
