Is this email legit?

Is this email legit? I got this email saying my account was accessed from an unknown device and need to verify my account by the link in the email within 24 hours or it will be permanently locked. I ask because the email does end in @apple.com

Is this legit has someone accessed my icloud because I never really use it myself.

If it is legit, how do I go about this?

It is a phishing attempt. Do not respond to the email.

Apple will always address you by your name or the name they have on file for you, not Dear Customer or by using your e-mail address. The e-mail will be from @apple.com or @iTunes.com. E-mail addresses can be spoofed. You can go to Mail/View/Message/Show all Headers to see more. Apple e-mails will never contain an attachment. Apple will never request personal information such as Social Security numbers.
