Download .mp3 file instead of having QuickTime launched

Hello everyone.

Is there any way to have Safari download .mp3 files instead of launching them in QuickTime? I'm looking for an option similar to Firefox's "Default action".

Opening the "Downloads" window and dragging the .mp3 link to it isn't an option because it doesn't work with Flash sites. Ditto for right-clicking on the link and choosing "Download Linked File".

Thanks in advance for your help.

Bring up the Flash contextual menu and use Copy Link on one of the mp3s. Paste that result at the end of the page URL in the Safari Location bar. The location bar URL should then look like this:
http://www.xxxxxxx.com/mp3s/xxxxxx-LostBefore_ImFound.mp3

Then drag that amended URL into the Safari Downloads window and the mp3 should download automatically. It landed on my desktop as an iTunes mp3 and didn't play automatically.

I haven't tried this on an .mp3 file specifically but usually holding the option key while clicking on a link will change the anticipated action to just downloading the file.
I have had to use this where web sites were poorly written and Mac's would open the file as binary garbage in the browser instead of downloading it.

Hope it works. If not give me an actual url you are trying and I will play with it.

Hmm interesting challenge. At first try and result I would say it is intentionally copy protected to prevent downloading since what I do get is an Itunes reference that automatically searches the store for the song to purchase it.
If so this is a request for how to pirate the songs and not working around a bug.
Since the artitist has a free podcast you can subscribe to I would just do that.
