Airplay on Pioneer VSX 1021-K and other older receivers

I noticed an old locked question from 2017. The question stated that iOS broke AirPlay for a Pioneer VSX 1021-K receiver. I am happy to report that a firmware update for the receiver fixed my issue. I assumed I had the most recent version because when I went to the "Update firmware via Internet" on the receiver, it said I did. This was actually incorrect. I had to follow the "Update via USB Media" directions on the Pioneer website. I suggest everyone else do the same.
